This is controlled by infra-red sensors that monitor the litter pan. A carpeted ramp controls litter scatter and cleans the cat paws. The ramp rug is removable to be washed when needed. The Petmate® Purrforma Plus(TM) XL Self Cleaning Cat Litter Box uses zeolite filters, easy tie wastebags and disposable litter pan liners. This litter box is mobile as it can run off an AC adapter or 9-volt batteries.
